February#3 Journal

Actually, I have nothing much to say for this week, except the exam is getting closer and closer and I am half-ready for the exam. Today what I really wanted to talk about is I recently addicted to a game called " Go".This game is something like a conquer game. The objective of the game is to capture more territory and prisoners than your opponent. The game is played on a grid of 15x15 points, which you can play it on a piece of paper. A Go move is played on the intersections of the lines. The black player moves first. During a Go game one or more dots can be captured by completely surrounding them on four sides, i.e. filling all empty points around them.

If a move would result in the same board pattern that existed before the opponent's move, the player is required to abstain from that move and make a move elsewhere. This situation is known as a KO (the knot). This rule is used to prevent stalemates and endless repetition.
A player may pass instead of placing a dot. When both players pass consecutively, negotiation will begin and both players shall mark dead dots. A player's score is the number of empty points enclosed only by his stones plus the number of captured dots. The player with the higher score wins. This game is a very addictive game and it can be played everwhere as long as you bring a piece of paper with you. So, i really like this game because it required a lot of thinking and skills to win this game. Right now, I am playing with my classmate, Adam, Kien Meng, Yu King, and Zhan Ber.(The above names I listed always lose to me, NO OFFENCE). I really hope that this game will be well-known because this is a fun game. If anyone is interested in this game, please go to the "Go" website, http://www.flyordie.com/go/ , for more details. ( This game is suitable for everyone, do not worry about it)
